La Crosse Tribune – 28 Feb 1922
MRS. JOSEPH STUBER
Mrs. Joseph Stuber and new born baby of Sparta formerly of La Crosse died Sunday night at eleven o’clock at St. Mary’s hospital, at Sparta. Mrs. Stuber was formerly Miss Barbara Girk of this city. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, and four children, three daughters and one son. Catherine, Elizabeth, Virginia and James of Sparta, also two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Stuber will be brought to the home of Mrs. M. Stuber 910 Zeisler Street Wednesday noon. The funeral will be at 8:30 Thursday morning from the home of Mrs. M. Stuber 910 Zeisler Street and at 9 o’clock from St. Joseph’s Cathedral. Rev. Kramer officiating. Interments in Catholic Cemetery.

MRS. MICHAEL STUBER
Mrs. Michael Stuber, 74, of 732 North Ninth Street, died late Monday evening. She is survived by her husband, four daughters: Mrs. J. W. Gund, Mrs. HW. Steppe and Margaret Stuber all of La Crosse and Sister Carina of Luxemburg, Iowa, and two sons: E.L. Stuber and Joseph Stuber, both of La Crosse. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 Thursday morning from the home, and at 9 o’clock from the St. Joseph’s cathedral. Rev. Peter Pape will officiate and interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery.

MICHAEL STUBER, PIONEER RESIDENT, PASSES ON SUNDAY
Michael Stuber, 82, a resident of La Crosse since 1874, passed away at his home, 732 North Ninth street, Sunday afternoon at 1:30 after a brief illness. Mr. Stuber was born in Bavaria, Germany, February 2, 1848, and came to La Crosse in 1874, since making this place his home. He is survived by two sons, E.L. and Joseph of La Crosse; four daughters, Miss Margaret Stuber at home, Mrs. Barabara Gund of La Crosse, Sister M. Carina of Harper, Ia., Mrs. Rose Steppe of La Crosse; 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 8:30 at the home, and at nine o’clock at St. Joseph’s cathedral. Monsignor Peter Pape will officiate and interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery. The rosary will be said at the home Tuesday evening at 8:15.
